Wing Meeting 12-11-17

In our mandatory wing meeting we talked about our Christmas gift plan for Sara as well as closing information. The biggest pieces of information include that finals are coming up and that extreme quiet hours come with it. Please review the bulletin board or come ask me questions if any arise. Good luck on your finals and study for them!!!

Murder on the Dobson Express

Dobson Hall hosted its last Friday Night Club (FNC) for the year and we ended with a bang! Dobson teamed up with Pickard Hall to make an epic game of live Clue! The setting was 1920’s and on a train from the east coast coming through Platteville Wisconsin! Can you solve the murder that happened?!? The 8 o’clock murder was incorrect as the “jury”, you all, convicted innocent Jenna and Johnny walked free. The 9 o’clock murder was correctly solved as Emma was convicted! I was the ever so knowing bartender, who got really bored when the “train” ran out of drinks…

Thanks Braden for letting my use you bow tie and vest!

The Wing’s Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

Apparently I seemed to be overly jolly on this snowy night… before you know it I am dressed up as a decorated Christmas tree and even topped off with a star on top! We had to get the full experience so we went with lights as the background as well!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! P.S. this will be the wings Christmas card! Jk

Special Guest Speakers

Tayna Nelson and Tina Pohl came and spoke to the group about the topic Restorative Justice for Offenders and Victims. Professor Nemmetz and Professor Cline were both there as they helped bring these two wonderful speakers to Platteville!

Tayna Nelson is a Alumni of University of Wisconsin- Platteville and was the victim of armed robbery in 1999. She has been publicly speaking to community members, other victims, and even offenders. These are also the core groups of Restorative Justice initiatives. She has since began working as a consultant for non-profit organizations standing beside the idea of Restorative Justice.

Tina Pohl also came and spoke briefly. Tina has been a major support line for Tayna throughout the years. Tina works for the Milwaukee County District Attorneys Office in the Child Abuse Unit.

Tanya’s story was extremely powerful and moving. I hope you all enjoyed the speaker!

Extra!! Extra!!Criminal Justice Association Meeting

For the last meeting of the semester we had a trivia game and held elections for the Community Service Coordinator. We gave out bags of Hersey Kisses for the top four on trivia as well as the one group how came up with the funniest story on why Pioneer Pete was arrested.

I am also proud to well welcome Johannah to CJA E-board as she was elected as the Community Service Coordinator.

You all received your last door dec for the semester and it is to wish you all a great holiday season. We have a little over a week before finals start so here’s to the break after stress! I was assuming there to be snow by this time so I made snowflakes but I was wrong… I hope you enjoy them regardless!
