Volleyball 2-9-18

What started off as a soccer night quickly turned into volleyball as a few people reserved a court for tennis. We still had fun and nobody got injured!

Jump Starting a Car 101

So the wing had a slight emergency when a car had to be jumped. Luckily a few of your fellow residents jumped into action!

Here are the four basic steps of jump starting a car battery; red on dead, red on live, black on live, and then black on metal of dead. I have attached a diagram of that below as well!

Hopefully this can help all of you out in the future. As a side note, see your emails on the upcoming snow emergency removal process. That will be in affect starting early Monday morning so please be aware or you will get fined and towed.

Boxes and Walls

Boxes and Walls is a fantastic event that allows you to think about tough topics and see both or all sides of the issue. There are rooms set up for Women’s Rights, Politics, Relationships, Bullying, Military, Racism, Body Shamming, and many many more! Please if you didn’t already go, please go! It is a thought provoking experience that many of you will never have the opportunity to do again. Being that we work or will potentially will work with people everyday in our jobs or careers, this is a great way to show diversity in a very simple way.

Super Bowl 52

This year the game was the better part of the Super Bowl. The advertisements didn’t live up to the hype that they normally do. Pink started off the Super Bowl by singing the National Anthem. Justin Timberlake sang and preformed for the halftime show. The Eagles won in dramatic fashion as the G.O.A.T. ( Tom Brady), threw up a Hail Mary in the closing seconds as the Eagles had an 8 point lead. The pass fell incomplete which meant the Eagles won the Super Bowl! Nick Foles, the Eagles QB, won MVP as the Philadelphia Eagles upset the New England Patriots to become the Super Bowl Champions!!

Hot Fuzz

Hot Fuzz is a police film that is set in England in present time. The main character Officer Angel is an incredibly skilled police officer that is getting about 400% higher arrest rates compared to other officers. He then gets stabbed and then got transferred to a location in the country. Officer Angel is a “by the books” officer and lays down a heavy iron fist. The movie mocks the policing culture in many ways and is a great comedy mixed with the slasher feel. Overall to not spoil the movie but the coverups by the town were eventually foiled.

Zootopia

The wing movie night started off with Zootopia! Zootopia is a movie that emphasizes positive change in the world and always being the best YOU possible. This movie was extremely relevant because the plot is based around concept of law enforcement. No matter how big or how small you are, you can make major changes in the world! Gazelle, voiced by Shakira, sing the song “Try Everything” and it has the same meaning that the title says. Go out into the world and try things. Break out of your comfort zone and enter your learning zone.
