Dobson Hall hosted a National Coming Out Day Event in the MPR. At this event, participants were asked to place a paint covered hand print on a large black piece of paper that will be hung up in Dobson Hall. After that, participants were allowed to have a cupcake. A guest speaker from the Doyle Center was scheduled to speak but cancelled last minute. This event still spread the word of National Coming Out Day.
We had a University of Wisconsin-Platteville Alumni come in and speak. James Engels is a supervisor of the Narcotics/White Collar/ and Trafficking divisions with the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
He was a student athlete here at UW-P in 1986- 1990. He was a Criminal Justice major and played basketball under Bo Ryan when we won the National Championship!
He started off his career interning at Dodge County. They then hired him to work in the prison after college for three years before transferring to the patrol side of the department. He then worked his way up to an Investor role in the department before applying and getting a job for DCI in the drug task force. He has been with the department for 11 years and is now a supervisor!

For the third homecoming event of the year, Dobson Hall again rocked it and “roped” in a 6th place finish! 1… 2… PULL! Overall, Dobson went 4 wins and 2 losses in the double elimination bracket. Wins included Delta Sig, Gamma/Sig, Brockert, and HHP.
